The Black Bottle-1979, overcast December day, was hunting behind my house. 3 Widgeons came in, shot 2, crippled 1, ran out of shells. walked in spread, cripple hen widgeon flopping in decoys, other hen Widgeon stone dead. Stood a few feet from cripple, Drake Widgeon came in next to me, hit duck with gun barrel, limited out. Thought about what I saw over night, set up next morning, used black bottle method, instant limit, felt guilty for what I'd done, Never used it again, When I die my daughter will tell the story.
